DIY.

Waistcoat front and back

Skirt front and back

So I thought I'd make some use out of this gorgeous floral fabric my mum gave me a while ago. As you can see I absolutely looove the skirt! I do like the jacket, but it didn't turn out quite how I'd hoped, but I'll still wear it :) With the skirt I wasn't too sure if it would turn out ok or look right, but now that it's finished I love it and I'm so pleased with how it looks! I just can't wait to wear it!! I also made a few headbands for the festival out of scraps of fabric that I've kept (I always knew they'd come in handy!) I especially love the first one. The fabric, the colours and how I've tied it :) I originally made a pair of shorts out of this fabric so I'll definitely been wearing these together!

What do you think? I hope you like it all :)

29. Lets make this happen

Top:  Actually a playsuit from New Look
Skirt:  DIY
Shoes:  River Island

I am wearing the skirt I made yesterday again, I know, but I think it's my new favourite! I actually started by wearing my daisy playsuit, as the sun is making an appearance today, and I wanted to take a picture of my skirt for my facebook (as I have a folder of clothes I have made) so I just put it over the top of my playsuit and then I really liked the combo and stuck with it! I've gone for the 50's style make up too with liquid eyeliner along the top lid and red lipstick. I love the lipsticks I have but don't seem to wear them often enough, so from now on I think I will because I think it gives a finished look and often adds to the outfit. I am also wearing my white bow sandals which I bought from River Island last year. I really love them because they remind me of the 50's and with a flowy skirt like I'm wearing today I just think it looks so feminine and girly and elegant all at the same time.

Anyway, I hope you're all having a good week so far! The weather is lovely today so I'm going to spend it in the garden :)

28. We're dreaming

Top:  New Look
Scarf:  Vintage
Skirt:  Home made

I made this skirt today from some fabric I bought a little while ago. I love the wine/plum colour so much right now. The skirt is just simple with an elasticated waist which is why I added the belt to the outfit so that the skirt doesn't puff out straight away from the waist. This look is very simple with just a plain black top so I added a floral scarf for more detail and interest. I am also wearing my fabric ring which is the same colour as the skirt!

I started to make another skirt today but didn't finish it in the end, so hopefully I will tomorrow and I'll get an outfit post up soon! It's some fabric that my mum found in the loft, a long time ago now, with a soft floral print all over it with mint and peachy colours. I also started making a waistcoat out of this material (because there is loads of it) but I have yet to finish that too...I really should finish things once I start them! Anyway, hope you like my new skirt :)

Make It Mine: Festival

My 'Make It Mine Monday' is a little late as I was meant to do it yesterday, but here it is on a Tuesday instead! I've been looking at clothes to buy for the Isle of Wight festival as it's getting so close now, only 16 days to go! Is anyone else going by the way? Ahh I cannot wait! So here are the things I want for the festival this week, mainly shorts for some reason..but then again they easy and I lived in shorts at the festival last year!

River Island:  £25.00

I love the print and the colours on this playsuit. It's such a simple design with it's tie straps and it just screams festival to me! I also think the gold beads on the ties just make it!

Asos:  £42.00

I absolutely love these shorts! The pattern and the colours just compliment each other so well and they would be great for the festival, however I would not want to pay £42.00 for them knowing that they could get ruined over the weekend! If I am lucky enough to find some denim fabric like this (very unlikely) then I will gladly make some!

Topshop:  £32.00

More stripes..I seem to have a theme going on here. I saw a skirt with the same stripe design on in a magazine not so long ago, then I saw some jeans and now shorts! Black and white stripes are certainly popular right now and I love it! I intend on making a pair like this just because I think they make a statement and they stand out, which I love.

River Island:  £39.99

I love the colour of these jeans! I've been wanting a pair for a while now, we used to have them in New Look but haven't seen them about for a few weeks. I just think they're different to the usual blue denim jeans and would look great with a simple tee or a cream blouse, either way would work.

Asos:  £20.00
Topshop:  Sold Out

Going for a bit of an amerian flag theme now. I just love both pieces! Especially the shorts the way they are divided into two seperate patterns but it stands for the American flag. They are from Topshop but have unfortunately sold out for now, although I did find the same pair being sold on ebay if you really wanted them.

27. Daisy Chain

Dress:  New Look
Tights:  Primark
Rings:  jwlry

Today's outfit is very simple, although I do love this dress and the tights together, I just threw on anything as I'm not feeling very well lately. Plus the weather was horrible and gloomy today with wind that could knock you over. I bought this dress a little while ago now from New Look from the kids section (again!) and I just love how comfy and easy it is! The three buttons detail and daisy chain edging is all the interest you need I think, however I did add the heart tights to complete the look, and my new turquoise stone rings to add some colour.

I also finally recieved my polaroid film in the post today!! It turns out the first batch got lost so the seller had to send out a whole new batch to the people that hadn't recieved anything! But anyway, atleast I have it now and don't need to go through the process of getting a refund! I also popped into town with my boyfriend today and suprisingly didn't buy any clothes!! I just bought some make-up supplies, Despicable Me dvd (cannot wait to watch!) and 13m of elastic for a good deal so that I can start making some skirts out of all this pretty fabric I have lying around! I know what I'll be doing tomorrow!

Hope everyone has had a good start to the week!

Help!

Ok, I bought this jacket a little while ago now and I think I've worn it once. I really want to wear it more because I love it so much! But I just don't know what to wear it with! So this is where you lovely bloggers come in...if you had this jacket, what would you wear it with? I don't seem to have much in my wardrobe that I could wear with it, so a few ideas and opinions would be great! Thankyou so much! :)

My day just got a whole lot better ♥

Well, a certain package in the post this morning certainly just made my day! I was on my laptop this morning double checking I had paid for some things on paypal that I had ordered, because I am new to this, and I had to email someone on ebay because I still haven't recieved my polaroid film which was due 3 days ago..(getting very worried now as I have never used ebay before :/)..and then the post came! I walked into the hallway and found a little package with my name on it. I knew straight away what it was...it was the 5 stone rings I had ordered from LLYMLRS jewellery website: http://jwlry.bigcartel.com/ for £10!! Now, you dont get to choose what rings you get so I was a bit nervous, but fortunately I love them all!!! I thought I'd post up pictures of my new favourite rings and say a HUGE thankyou to Lily from LLYMLRS! :) Go and check out her blog and jewellery store if you haven't already! She has such an amazing blog with gorgeous outfit posts and the jewellery is lovely too!

26. DIY Playsuit ♥

I thought I'd do this as an outfit post as I wore it out last night. I literally didn't know what to wear for going out with my friend in the evening yesterday and I remembered I had this material from Africa. I wanted to make a playsuit out of it when I first got it last year but I wanted to wait until I was sure because the fabric is so gorgeous, and then yesterday I just thought I'd go for it and hope for the best! And this is the outcome! I wasn't too sure at first but now the more I look at it the more I like it! It fits perfectly and I love knowing that no one else in the world will have the same playsuit :) Hope you like!

Also, I've just had a request from a friend to make her 2 playsuits and a pair of shorts! It's so exciting to think that someone actually wants to buy the clothes I make!! I made a few clothes for friends last summer but hopefully this year more people will want me to make them things :)

25. She lives in a fairytale, Somewhere too far for us to find.

Dress:  New Look
Ring:  New Look

This is the dress I was talking about in my post from yesterday. I loooove it! And the ring matches the dress so well! I just love the bold colours and the floral pattern. I seem to like my floral skirts and dresses at the moment :/ The dress also came with this plaited tan belt to add detail and interest. I don't usually wear red and I wasn't too sure about this dress at first, I didn't know if it would suit me, but everyone at work persuaded me to buy it! lol Speaking of which, work has been so busy again, I ache all over and I still have a little bit of uni work to do for my hand in tomorrow. Cannot wait for it to all be handed in and I can relax again for the summer :D
