Pretty Little Playsuit

Hello all! Sorry if I'm overwhelming you all with the masses of posts this week, it's just because I haven't had uni this week and I'm back Monday so I want to cram it all in before I get busy again!

I've just finished making a playsuit which I plan on wearing tomorow night for my friend's birthday. I haven't added straps but I might change my mind tomorrow, who knows! What do you think?

Sorry the full photos aren't great. I'll hopefully get some tomorrow night!

Calling all fashionista's! I have some news which you may or may not know about. My friend has just told me about a new show which is coming to our screens soon to find a fashion designer to design an outfit for Rihanna to wear for her performace in Hyde Park this summer! Nicola Roberts will be the main presenter but Rihanna will be involved.

Interested? Then click the link below, have a read and then apply by clicking the 'application form' link at the bottom.

I am thinking of applying myself but I'm worried that if I get through my designs will be rubbish! Haha! Then again, there will be so many people applying so I might not get through anyway! Good luck if you apply!!

Jacket:  Charity Shop
Top:  H&M
Skirt:  Primark
Boots:  New Look

Hello all! I managed to take these photos before it started raining again, luckily. It seems to be really up and down with the weather today, one minute its raining, the next theres some sunshine and then it starts raining again! Ahh typical British weather, ey?!

Anyway, I bought this lovely little velvet jacket in a charity shop in Farnham on Monday so I wanted to show it off. It's actually a size 12 but I think it looks ok. I was going to take it in but I think I'll leave it now as it doesn't actually look too bad. I just love the black and grey pattern that covers the jacket in an unusual way and I love the little buttoned collar at the top aswell. I've paired it with my textured Primark skirt to match the grey colours and then I've added my Nirvana top to make it look more casual and add a bit of edge. I'm then wearing my usual black tights (I should really vary my legwear!) and my chunky wedge boots.

I have to say I am really liking this look today. I'm going to the pub tonight with my friend for a long awaited catch up and I think I'll wear this outfit rather than changing. Anyone doing anything nice today/tonight? Hope you've all had a good week so far!

P.s - Before I forget, could you please vote for me on Company Casting Call. It would mean so much to me! It doesn't take long, just simply click the link here and 'like' my photos! That's it! Thanks so much!

Necklace:  Vintage
Jumper:  Boyfriend's
Shorts:  DIY/Self Made
Boots:  New Look

Hello all! I just about managed to take some photo's of my outfit today before it got too dark. I've been up in Farnham since Sunday spending time with my boyfriend (hence the jumper!). I actually bought this jumper for him yesterday from a charity shop along with a little velvet jacket for me and just bunged the bag in my suitcase without taking the jumper out, so now I have it until I see him again! It's really comfy I have to say, and was only £3.99! I will definitely be wearing this again as it's perfect for cold, rainy days like today. I've tucked it into my high-wasited grey shorts today with a black and gold belt, black tights and black ankle boots. I thought I'd add a bit of a feminine touch with my floral vintage necklace too seeing as the outfit is very simple today. I am also wearing my 'winge' (fake fringe) as I think it looks quite nice with my hair up and you can't see where it clips into my hair which is good!

Now I'm home and back to reality. Although I have this week off of uni I still have uni work to do for my new three week project. Three weeks really isn't enough time to fill a sketchbook, do boards and thousands of illustrations, along with making an outfit and doing a photoshoot. *And breathe* I better get cracking! Hope you've all had a good day!

Behind the Scene's

So, of course, today everyone is talking about Versace's latest collection as it was shown in Paris today. Has anyone seen pictures of the new collection? It's so bright and fun, full of colour, and the garments are gorgeous! However, I thought I would post some beautiful 'behind the scene's' snaps that I found on the Official Versace facebook page. I just think the photographer has capture the model and the garments beautifully and being in black and white makes the model look even more elegant.

Leopard Print Madness

I'm not intirely sure why, but for a long time now I have longed for a pair of leopard print shoes. Goodness knows what oufit I would wear with them, but I think it would lighten up a dull outfit when you can't really be bothered to make the effort, you know? It started off that I wanted a pair of leopard print loafers after seeing a gorgeous pair in a magazine and eventhough I have seen many around I never bought a pair. Maybe because I'm worried they won't go with anything or that I wouldn't wear them enough, or just because I haven't had the money to buy any decent pair I see!

There are a lovely pair in New Look at the moment, I have to be honest, however whilst browsing on Irregular Choice today, admiring the amazingly wacky shoes, I came across these two pairs and couldn't help but fall a little bit in love...

There is just something about these shoes. The heel, the slight lift at the front of the shoe, the curved back, the slight seperation of print between the shoe and the heel, I just love them! They won't be to everyone's taste, I'm sure, but then again pretty much all Irregular Choice shoes are like this, infact even more crazy than these with their bright colours and contrasting patterns. These shoes come in at £85 (down from £119 may I add!), oh if only I had the money instead of going through the 'it's-January-and-I'm-broke' stage. In saying that my 21st Birthday is in April, so fingers crossed they're still in store by then! You can find them on the Irregular Choice website here.

And these are the second pair I have been eyeing up. I have to say I do prefer the first pair but I do love the fringing on the front of the shoe and the 'brogue style' stitching. These shoes are a little cheaper at £65 down from £99, you can find them here.

What do you think? Like or dislike?

H&M Summer 2012 Collection featuring Frida Gustavsson

I came across the H&M Summer collection today and was really impressed! You can tell that they have been inspired by sporty clothing, but they have made it look so elegant and feminine with the colours and fabrics they have used. Frida Gustavsson, a Swedish model, looks absolutely stunning in this shoot. Her hair and make up look amazing, I would love to try this hairstyle! I'm sure some of you have seen the collection already, but for those of you who haven't yet here's a peak.

What I've been up to...

Hello all! So, as I've been saying in the previous posts, I have been working my little bottom off over the last two weeks trying to finish off all of my semester 1 work for hand-in. My hand-in was this morning (Horray!!) so I thought I would post some pictures of my work from the photo shoot yesterday.

The first set of photos was an innovative menswear project where we had to make an interesting jacket and accessory. Me being me gave myself and challenge to make two jackets and an accessory. I literally only finished hand stitching the hems of the jackets yesterday morning at 6am and the belt and braces late last night (which is why I don't have any photos of my accessory on a model).

The second set of photos was for a project called 'The Devil is in the Detail' where we had to make an outfit for either womenswear or menswear based on a film. I chose two films, Innocence - a pretty weird french film, and Memoirs of a Geisha (great film!).

Hope you like what I came up with!
